Isaac Gottlieb

Isaac Gottlieb is the center of this family tree. He was born in Bosen, Oldenburg, Germany on November 19, 1846, the son of David Gottlieb of Bosen and Raula Kahn¹ of Gonnesweiler. He owned a general store.

Isaac married Philippine Joseph of Nahbollenbach in Sotern, Germany on July 2, 1872. Her Hebrew name was Channah, and her children knew her as Caroline. Isaac and Caroline settled down in Caroline's hometown of Nahbollenbach, where they had five children: Wilhelmine ("Mina"), Rose, Karoline, Herman and Theodor.

Isaac died on July 15, 1910 and is buried next to Caroline in a small graveyard in Nahbollenbach.

1.	Some online genealogies of this family have recorded the mother's name as "Kaula Kahn"; however, I have seen the original registries, examined the handwriting carefully, and compared it to other names in the records, and I am confident that the mother's name was Raula.
